Welcome to Skin Doc 101! My name is Peter Gust. I am a board certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. After spending eight years in Southern California at Loma Linda University in training, I have been established here in Central Texas for just over five years. Originally from Wisconsin, I’ve appreciated my time living in many beautiful and unique places this country has to offer. Time is flying by at an incredible pace!
During my undergraduate years, I started as a computer science major before fully committing to my pre-medical track. I’ve always had an interest in the reach that the internet has to offer in terms of educational content. Unfortunately, the content that the general public is presented isn’t always the most evidence based. Yes, I am looking at you social media. There are countless patients each week who come to me in clinic with new social media trends that may or may not be improving or disrupting their skin. Through this site, I hope to present new developments in the world of dermatology and overall skin care in general. In my practice, I focus on simple, effective, and preventative skin care education which I hope to discuss further on this site. I’d consider myself more of a medical dermatologist who reinforces the basics of sun protection, skin rejuvenation and proper diagnostic evaluation. For specific questions and tailored advice, it is always most appropriate to establish a relationship with a dermatologist in your area of the world. I only hope to provide educational content via this site.
Readers should expect insights on new treatments, disease specific discussion, straightforward routines, and informative science backed content that I hope you find useful in your search for your healthiest skin possible. After all, it is the largest organ in your body.
